How Trap City renders visualizers and lyric videos in about three minutes

A purpose-built production app for creating branded visualizers and lyric videos without working directly in After Effects.

Trap City is a music label and one of the largest music communities on YouTube. It sits within a broader network of genre-focused channels, including Latin City and House City. Together, the network has more than 18 million combined subscribers and 8 billion views.

Publishing at that scale requires a reliable way to produce branded visualizers and lyric videos. Trap City’s previous workflow relied on an After Effects template, and rendering a Full HD, song-length video could sometimes take up to an hour.

Noice Tech built a custom production app around that workflow. Team members can pick a song and preset, manage brand styles, customize the result, and batch-render videos, all without needing to work directly in After Effects.

We rebuilt Trap City’s visualizer graphics from scratch, using its After Effects template as a visual reference. The app uses Remotion for programmatic video production, React Router for the interface, and PostgreSQL for its production data.

A Full HD, song-length video now takes about three minutes to render on average. Trap City can produce consistent visualizers and lyric videos through a workflow designed around its team and output.
